About Us

Footsteps is leadership and entrepreneurial incubator that was established in 2015. Our mission is to identify and invest in girls and young women in marginalized communities by unleashing their leadership potential to transform lives and accelerate prosperity within their communities.

We also promote and encourage entrepreneurial awareness among young girls and young women. This is to enable girls and young women to be responsible, enterprising individuals who contribute to the economic development of their community.

Our innovative approach aims at providing girls and young women opportunity through training to unleash their leadership potential to transform their lives and also the lives of girls within their communities with the aim of accelerating prosperity within their communities through providing seed support in terms of resources to build their grassroots initiatives, capacity building, mentoring and also the creation of a network for peer to peer learning.

What We Do

Educate

Our work provides opportunities for girls and young women to be retained more in school and with the ultimate goal of finishing high school and joining a higher level of education. We do this through scholarship awards, collaborating with schools, etc.

Support Girl Led Grassroot Initiatives

We provide continuous support to social
innovation projects led by girls and young women in the community through training, mentoring, peer to peer learning, and seed funding for their projects.

Empower

Through our work we create an environment for girls and women where they can make decisions of their own for their personal benefits as well as for the society, increasing and improving the social, economic, political, and legal strength of the women, to ensure equal-right to women, and to make them confident enough to claim their rights.

Support Micro-Enterprise

We support small micro-enterprise managed by girls and young women in the community, through training and seed support to make their initiative sustainable.

Provide Work Based Learning opportunities

We support young women through our DADA ACADEMY to be able to have internship placement after their training with the local companies we partner with.
